Did the job, though not as nice as I hoped. As with at least 2 other reviewers, the clamshell packaging broke open during shipping and all the parts were banging around in Amazon's big cardboard box. In my case the flexible pipe got some dents in it I think the manufacturer seriously needs to design a better package.
Most other gas connectors I've seen were yellow coated. Looking at the site of one manufacturer of such a coated connector line, they say it is for extra corrosion resistance. I guess that makes sense, as stainless steel CAN rust under certain circumstances, and I've read that when it does it tends to pit deeply instead of broadly. These connectors are very thin metal, for flexibility, which is why mine got dented in shipping. Personally I would feel better with the yellow coating for a permanent installation. Looking closely at the threaded pipe fittings included, some seemed fine but I felt the largest one had excessively flat-topped threads.
When this flat-topped male thread seats into the "V" of the mating female thread, it will rely too much on the teflon tape or pipe goop to seal, and possibly leave a spiral path for gas leakage. I did not measure the thread by any means, or compare it to any specification, but I felt the flat at the thread crest was unusually large just by eyeball in my experience as a professional machinist. Back around my grandmother's sister was killed when her house blew up in a gas explosion. According to a newspaper article I read about it, the explosive force was so great that a row of trees in the yard were sheared off leaving just stumps.
I'd rather pay a few bucks more to be safe. Nice gas appliance hook-up kit. The hose is only 22 inches, so probably best to stick to appliances that won't have to be moved any distance after connection e. Technically, they call the hose: The kit also includes: Special gas seal tape for connections yellow. The components are of good quality and accommodate a variety of potential appliance and supply connections. I wish I'd had this when our old gas water heater had to be replaced. Stand to the side of the panel do not stand directly in front and move the main service disconnect handle to ON.
While still to the side, move the new circuit breaker handle to ON. Check for proper wiring.

Using a voltmeter, check the new range outlet for proper voltages. Check for V between the two flat blades openings that are parallel to each other. If any measurements are not exactly as described, turn the new circuit breaker OFF and check the wiring of the range outlet, and if necessary the wiring in the electric service panel as well.
Correct any improperly wired connections and test again. After the new outlet is wired correctly, shut off the breaker, then push the range plug into the outlet. Set the range into place. Update the panel directory to reflect the addition of the new circuit breaker and new positions of old circuit breaker if any needed to be moved. Make sure all circuit breakers have been turned back on. On a four-prong, a copper wire is attached to white.
Where does the green wire go? On a four-prong, the black and red wires are power; the white wire is neutral; and the green wire is the safety ground. But older models may only use the black and red wires for power, and the plain copper wire for the ground or neutral. You can attach the green wire to any permanent metal part of the stove for safety. Not Helpful 0 Helpful 5. Does the stove wiring have to be under the stove, or can it be behind it?
wiring diagram for a stove plug - AskmeDIY
It can be behind the stove as long as there is enough room for the wires to fit without being pinched when the stove is shoved back in place. Not Helpful 1 Helpful 2. Can I use the volt source from my dryer outlet for my electric range? The range needs more power than most any dryer would ever use. Not Helpful 1 Helpful 1. Yes, though it's not preferred, since there's not an emergency disconnect if one is ever needed. Not Helpful 4 Helpful 1.
How do I know which circuit breaker is odd or even, as there are red wires on both odd and even? The main circuit breaker panel box is made so each circuit breaker next to each other is on a separate line. So each breaker next to each other is a circuit, making a circuit when combined together on a double throw circuit breaker.

If it's under a slab and a short run, then you may just be able to pull the new wire through. You may have to run the new 4-wire cable into the ceiling. Not Helpful 0 Helpful 0. They should be marked on the mountings. Or, refer to the manufacturer.
